Wondering about us and the history here at Doctor’s Choice Supplements?
Doctor’s Choice Supplements was started and developed by R. Dean Meyer, DVM. The nutritional passion Dr. Meyer has, started when he developed the product, Equi-Shine, back in the 1980’s. He has been an equine veterinarian for over 50 years. Dr. Meyer developed Equi-Shine because there was no product on the market that fit the needs, and deal with the nutritional problems he was seeing in his equine practice. Over time one product grew into many on the horse side and then in the 2000’s Dr. Meyer came up with the idea of Fido-Vite. Doctor’s Choice Supplements developed the Fido-Vite line of supplements to support the nutritional needs of dogs just as Equi-Shine did to horses. Dr. Meyer was convinced that supplements could offer health supporting benefits to many commercial diets. Backed up with solid research, all products at Doctor’s Choice Supplements contain highly available ingredients to nutritionally support your companion animal. Being a veterinarian, Dr. Meyer can’t stress enough the importance of a well-balanced diet with good nutrition, for the health and longevity of our loved ones.
“I have enjoyed seeing the health supporting benefits in horses and dogs using Equi-Shine and Fido-Vite, as well as in my own breeding of Morgan horses, Labrador Retrievers and Corgi dogs.” -R. Dean Meyer, DVM
Throughout his veterinary career, Dr. Meyer has used his veterinary and personal experience to continue to develop and refine the dog, cat and horse supplement product lines. The goal of Doctor’s Choice Supplements and R. Dean Meyer, DVM, is to assure that every animal is treated as an individual in order to meet its nutritional requirements.
