Frequently Asked Questions
Does Fido-Vite contain any preservatives?
Fido-Vite contains no BHA, BHT or ethoxyquin. Fido-Vite is preserved with mixed tocopherals (a source of Vitamin E) and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Fido-Vite also has a very low moisture content (< 8%).
Fido-Vite contains yeast. Is my dog at increased risk of a yeast infection?
No, Fido-Vite contains a totally different type of yeast. Fido-Vite will actually prevent and help cure yeast infections.
How safe is Fido-Vite for my dog?
Fido-Vite is very safe. No dog food is totally immune from dogs having allergies to it. This is also the case with Fido-Vite, but we have done our best to avoid ingredients that would cause allergies. No one ingredient makes up more than 15% of Fido-Vite. We have had several reports of dogs and cats ripping open a bag of Fido-Vite and gorging themselves on Fido-Vite with no major problems.
If I have a perfectly healthy dog, what will I see from using Fido-Vite?
A stiffer stool, a shinier coat and more energy.
Will feeding Fido-Vite help control Giardia?
Fido-Vite has had a lot of success with dogs that have loose stools. Fido-Vite contains yucca schidigera, which is one of richest sources of saponins. Saponins have been shown to have anti-protozoal activity and are as effective as the drug metronidazole in killing tropozites of giardia lamblia. (McAllister,TA; et al. Studies on the use of Yucca schidigera to control giardiasis. Vet Parasit. 2001;97:85-99). So yes, Fido-Vite can be an excellent complement to a veterinarian recommended treatment plan for giardia lamblia.
