Does Fido-Vite contain any preservatives?
Fido-Vite contains no BHA, BHT or ethoxyquin. Fido-Vite is preserved with mixed tocopherals (a source of Vitamin E) and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Fido-Vite also has a very low moisture content (< 8%).
Fido-Vite contains yeast. Is my dog at increased risk of a yeast infection?
No, Fido-Vite contains a totally different type of yeast. The prebiotics of yeast that are in Fido-Vite help support healthy intestinal lactobacillus.
How safe is Fido-Vite for my dog?
Fido-Vite is very safe. No dog food is totally immune from dogs having allergies to it. This is also the case with Fido-Vite, but we have done our best to avoid ingredients that would cause allergies. No one ingredient makes up more than 15% of Fido-Vite. We have had several reports of dogs and cats ripping open a bag of Fido-Vite and gorging themselves on Fido-Vite with no major problems.
If I have a perfectly healthy dog, what will I see from using Fido-Vite?
Fido-Vite nutritionally supports a normal healthy stool, a healthy coat and a healthy activity level.
I see that Fido-Vite products contain added calcium. Should I be worried about adding too much calcium to my dog's diet?
No, Fido-Vite products only contain enough calcium to balance out the calcium to phosphorous ratio. An ounce of Fido-Vite is equivalent to an ounce of a large breed puppy food in calcium and phosphorous levels.
Can you give me a quick explanation on the differences in Fido-Vite K-9 Supplement, Fido-Flexx, & Fido-Vite SportzDog?
Fido-Vite K-9 Supplement and Fido-Flexx are the same product for the exception of glucosamine and chondroitin. Fido-Flexx has glucosamine and chondroitin and Fido-Vite K-9 Supplement does not. Fido-Vite SportzDog is designed primarily for working and show dogs, but also will have added health supporting benefits for reproduction, puppies and some older dogs primarily due to increased levels of omega-3 fatty acids. Fido-Vite SportzDog has higher levels of glucosamine and chondroitin, minerals, vitamins and L-Carnitine as well.
What if I have a dog with known food allergies?

Should supplements be split between feedings or is it okay to feed them all at once?
It is ideal to split the supplements between 2 different feedings, AM and PM, however if that is not an option it is okay to give them all at one feeding.
Do National Research Council guidelines factor in bio-availability?
When one considers today’s ration formulations and animal productivity, bio-availability is not accounted for in the NRC (National Research Council) tables and guidelines. Neither is animal stress. So, mineral requirements should be adjusted appropriately.
